July 2008

Greetings,

Well here we are half way through summer! Wow where has the time gone? We have been busy in our local church doing whatever our hand finds to do. God has opened the door for ministering every Saturday night. We have joined a brother in the church to maintain the church lawn 14 acres worth. I enjoy the time spent mowing it provides hours of solitude and meditation. Wilma and I were grateful to God for making the way for us to revisit Israel for a few days in May. This was our third visit and while they were all wonderful, this last one was awesome! Our first visit was at the invitation of the late Ruth Heflin. We were blessed to minister six services for her at Mt.Zion Fellowship. That particular trip we spent most of our time in Jerusalem. Our second trip we flew into Cairo and traveled overland to Sinai and on to Israel via Elyat touring many holy sites. This last trip included the Golan Heights and Mt Herman! It was on the way home that I realized we had traveled the length and bread of the land. Upon our return home we had two days rest and then headed to Harrisburg,Pa. for some meetings. The Lord blessed and moved in a mighty way!

I am very happy to report that the two new churches we began to build at years end are almost completed in spite of all the unrest Kenya experienced after the elections last December.God blessed us to accomplish our mission in spite of the soaring cost of materials after the problems the country endured as a result of the violence! Both churches went over budget by $2000 each, but our God did supply all the needs to finish them both!

Preparations are beginning for our next mission to Kenya! We will be leaving Nov 5th or 6th returning around 19th! I want to give you an invitation to go with us and be part of this years outreach. We will conduct leaders & Pastor's seminars mornings and outdoor crusades in the afternoons. We will also spend time with children of our Children's home celebrating Christmas early with them. We will also visit other children and minister to them as well! God has always been faithful to give us an anointed team of talented folks to help us! We are confident this year will be no different. If you have ever felt God was calling you to Africa why not pray now about joining us in November and let us introduce you to ministry in the beautiful highlands of western Kenya. I believe that your life and ministry will never be the same again, This will be our 21st year of ministry in Africa! God has blessed us to minister in Nigeria,Ghana,Cameroon,Congo,Rwanda,Uganda,Tanzania, and Kenya! If you feel God's leading contact me right away at jimlay@earthlink.net or call me @ 865-426-6617.

In closing this letter today I would like to ask you to prayerfully consider supporting this ministry. I believe you will be sowing into good soil and making an investment in the future of multitudes of people. I have not been one for making great appeals for money but, we are in critical need of you to stand with us. This year has been an extremely difficult time for the ministry financially! I know many of you are experiencing financial struggles as well. However the answer is not in drawing back, but pressing on. The key to victory is not cut back on your giving! We have continued to support the children's home in spite of the fact that we have lost much of our support this year. These children still get hungry, they still need clothes and shoes, books school supplies from time to time medical attention. They are relying me and I am relying on God to provide through you! God has not chosen to rain money or Gold or Sliver down. He has chosen to provide through the generosity of a thankful heart in His people! Won't you mail me a generous offering of support today and not only be a blessing ,but position yourself to receive a blessing as well? Look what the book of Psalms says," Ch.41:1-2 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) Blessed [is] he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; [and] he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. Write me today at: James Lay P.O. For those of you who may be visiting this site for the first time,I would like to give a brief history of our work. We first traveled to Africa with the late Rev. Wallace Heflin Jr. in 1987. My life was indelibly marked! I returned to Nigeria in 1988. Since that time the Lord has blessed and enabled us to put our feet in more than 30 nations for his glory. In 2001 we opened a children's home in Kitali, Kenya. Where we began to provide total care for 13 beautiful children aged 4 -12 years old. In 2005 we built a feeding center for homeless children in Busia,Kenya. We have also built churches, drilled wells, carried medical supplies, and assisted in building classrooms, etc. We have now traveled to Africa more than 20 times and look forward to every visit as if it were the first! We also have ministered here at home the past 30 years with Tent revivals, Camp meetings, conferences, we have a ministry to encourage the brethren, and equip the saints. I would love to here from you today, write me won't you?

Blessings
